NEW HAVEN, CT - An outdoor lighting fixture, previously restored by Grand Light, has been replicated for installation at Yale University's Calhoun College.

With only two chandeliers and one outdoor fixture remaining, the Yale Calhoun College lighting restoration project is nearly complete.

The majority of the components for the four large antique chandeliers mentioned in our previous updates have been completely restored, and are currently being reassembled.

Several different lighting fixtures from Yale's Calhoun College are currently being worked on simultaneously in Grand Light's restoration shop.

The Yale Calhoun College lighting restoration project continues with the recent completion of six polished brass wall sconces and a matching chandelier. With many of the outdoor fixtures completed, attention now turns to the large, two-tier chandeliers and the remaining wall sconces.

One of the medium sized chandeliers from the Yale Calhoun College project has been completed.  The fixture's components were stripped from the frame and then refinished to their original state.  Then, the crystal prisms were individually cleaned and re-pinned, and the fixture was reassembled and rewired and tested in accordance with UL standards.

Steady progress is being made on the restoration of a wide variety of lighting fixtures from Yale Calhoun College.  The fixtures, ranging from outdoor lanterns to wall sconces to large chandeliers, and are made from a variety of materials including brass, copper, and iron.

Yale University has announced that in 2008 it will begin a full-scale renovation of their Calhoun College.  As a result of the high level of satisfaction with the work previously done for Yale University, which includes the Marquand Chapel chandeliers, Dwight Hall fixtures, and the Divinity School chandelier, the experts at Grand Light were contracted to begin the extensive restoration of the light fixtures for the college.
