Grand Light's restoration artisans were called on by a private residence to restore and repair a damaged crystal chandelier that hung in their grandmother's dining room over half a century ago.

The chandelier came into our shop completely dissasembled and in a cardboard box, with all of the crystal in dire need of cleaning and many of the components either damaged or missing.

It was the client's desire to have our restoration team completely restore the piece to its original state, so that the chandelier that once hung over her grandmother's family dinner table in the 1960's could once again take its rightful place in her home.

The restoration team's task was to bring the crystal chandelier back to life. In order to do so, the restoration team had to clean and polish the crystal, fabricate missing pieces, rewire the components to current UL standards, and repair or replace any of the brass parts.

Grand Light even did some minor upgrades to the chandelier, providing a new decorative brass canopy and candle snuffers that seemed to make the fixture appear to be more elegant than ever before. As the restoration progressed, the crystals began to radiate and shimmer, creating an image of internal prisms.

By the time our artisans had completed the restoration of the crystal chandelier, it was looking just as good as it did when it hung in grandmother's dining room over half a century ago.

As with all our projects, the chandelier was fully inspected and tested to ensure that it could hang in our client's home for decades to come. Upon completion of the inspection, it was carefully packaged and hung inside of one of Grand Light's custom chandelier crates, and then surrounded by protective packing.

The client was thrilled with the restoration of this prescious family heirloom. Instead of being packed away and forgotten in a cardboard box, it now hangs brilliantly in her home.
